2024 Spotlight Projects
YampaTika Summer Scholarship Program
$20,000
Yampatika is a Routt County organization whose mission is to inspire environmental stewardship through education.
Yampatika is currently working to overcome barriers that low-income families experience with getting children outside and active in the environment. One way they are addressing this barrier is by providing summer camp scholarships.
Each summer, Yampatika hosts a summer camp for Routt County youth ages 5-11 years old. In 2024, Yampatika granted scholarships to 40 of 194 campers, totaling $20,000. Moniker Foundation has committed to funding Yampatika's Scholarship Program for 3 years, totaling $60,000. This pledge is our biggest yet in the High Country!

CMC Food Market at Dillon and Breckenridge Campuses
$17,000
In partnership with CAFE Food Rescue, CMC Foundation will be creating two new food pantries at the Breckenridge and Dillon campuses. These pantries will provide grab and go meals and snacks for students and faculty facing food insecurity. The plan is to open both pantries in Spring of 2025. These are the last two of CMC's 11 campuses that do not currently have a food pantry of some form. Moniker Foundation has provided a $15,000 grant to CMC Foundation for startup costs and program related costs, fully funding the project. Moniker Foundation has also given a $2,000 grant to CAFE Food Rescue for the purchase of a new refrigerator for the Dillon campus.
