FOUNDATION UPDATES

Be advised that The Moniker Foundation is actively watching the COVID-19 pandemic. We will continue to monitor the severity of the virus and its related impacts closely, and will make any appropriate programmatic/operations changes accordingly. Furthermore, we realize this is an extremely difficult time for all of Colorado's organizations and residents. We are taking our philanthropic response seriously and we appreciate your patience as developments continue to unfold. Please continue to refer to this page for any updates, information and resource referrals related to the COVID-19 response.

MOniker's Program updates

COMPETITIVE Grants Program

We are closely monitoring restrictions and recommendations associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. Moniker will be conducting a virtual Pitch Day for our Pikes Peak Region in March. The Southwest Region will determine the appropriate action for Pitch Day as the funding cycle approaches.

Moniker's emergency response

Moniker's Board of Directors has approved the release of emergency response funding to be directed specifically to our three priority regions. This funding will be released in two phases: the first phase will be directed solely to established funds currently operating in the regions (listed by region below); the second phase has yet to be determined but will be released at a later date to address mid-term and/or long-term impacts. We have chosen to collaborate with other funders in the first phase of our response because we believe that consolidating emergency resources with the fewest possible funders is the best way to maximize efficiency and optimize impact in situations such as these. Further, we advocate for other funders and individual donors to strongly consider deploying their contributions in the same way at this time.

Pikes Peak region

"We are seeing a significant outpouring of interest from residents and businesses looking for guidance on how to give most effectively to help address the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19). It’s during times of crisis that our community stands together to support our beloved city. Please consider a gift, or if you are a non-profit, apply for funding to the Pikes Peak Community Foundation’s Emergency Relief Fund. By standing together, we will move through this evolving situation stronger and more resilient."

SOuthwest region

"The Community Foundation has activated the Community Emergency Relief Fund (CERF) in response to the COVID-19 protective measures that are now in place in Southwest Colorado. These measures, such as closures, cancellations, self-quarantines and social distancing, are necessary to reduce the risk of COVID-19 exposure and transmission, and particularly to preserve and protect the capacity of our local healthcare facilities.

Donations are now being accepted to deploy funds to community-based organizations directly responding to the most vulnerable members of our community. These resources will be disbursed as needed and as available."

HIgh Country Region

ROUTT COUNTY
"
A coalition of philanthropy, government, and community partners has joined together to create a COVID-19 Response Fund that will rapidly deploy resources to community-based organizations at the frontlines of the coronavirus outbreak in the Yampa Valley region.

All donations to the Yampa Valley COVID-19 Response Fund are considered a charitable contribution and 100% of donated funds will go directly to support vulnerable populations in Routt and Moffat Counties who are affected by the COVID-19 crisis. There are no administrative fees for this fund, so 100% of every dollar donated will go to serve those in need."

Moniker is making a $5,000 contribution to this fund. If you are a nonprofit that would like to learn more or if you would like to make a donation, please click the button below.

SUMMIT COUNTY
"The Summit Foundation is committed to providing support for our community partners who are working so hard on the frontlines to help people in our community. To that end, the Foundation has established a Community Fund to address emergency needs and supplement the Summit County Cares effort in our community.

We are making an initial gift of $100,000 to the Fund from the estate of Harriett Bobo, a beloved volunteer and caring community member. These funds will be provided directly to trusted local community-based organizations such as FIRC and others in order to assist with immediate emergency needs such as food or help for those who are immobile or otherwise compromised. The Summit Foundation will make sure 100% of the Fund will go to critical needs and not duplicate any other available resources."
