2022 Spotlight Projects
Continuing education opportuity fund - $10,000In partnership with Atlas Preparatory School, we have established the Continuing Education Opportunity Fund. The fund seeks to support nontraditional educational pathways during their high school education or after graduation. The funds would specifically target nontraditional student trajectories including: CNA certification, technical certification, earn-to-learn programs, and one-time start-up funds for career driven students. We look forward to piloting the fund in spring of 2023 with students who are specifically seeking their CNA certification.

WORKFORCE HOUSING FUND - $25,000The Pikes Peak Real Estate Foundation, alongside other local funders, established the Workforce Housing Fund in 2021. The Fund provides a competitive application process that works to select and support workforce housing development project(s) in the Pikes Peak Region. The Fund is a revolving loan fund. Awards to projects are expected to be returned with interest when construction financing is closed.
In 2022, the fund supported Silver Key’s tax credit application to develop 50 units of senior housing. Support for this initiative will help to combat senior housing challenges and isolation in the Pikes Peak region amid the affordable housing shortage. The group is also working alongside Goodwill Industries of Southern and Western Colorado to aid in the pre-development costs of additional affordable housing units. |
Family solutions Collaborative - $10,000Like many communities, El Paso County has several organizations working to provide services to individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness. While these organization offer similar services, each is also uniquely positioned in the community. The Family Solutions Collaborative is a new collaboration between several homeless organizations. The Collaborative seeks to better connect organizations through the development of a services and placement tracking system across all agencies. The Collaborative hopes to better serve the homeless population and improve organization efficiencies.
Funds specifically supported the hiring of the Collaborative's first Program Manager. The individual will build strong working relationships with agency members and recommend a data capture system for referrals. |
