Scholarship Program
The Moniker Foundation's founding intent was to provide scholarships to students seeking post-secondary education. In the early years, Moniker awarded scholarships through its Scholarship Program to students from three Colorado high schools: Cheyenne Mountain High School in Colorado Springs; Durango High School; and Summit High School in Breckenridge.
In 2014 however, Moniker's Board of Directors determined that the program required a significant, fundamental change to optimize student success. We found that a majority of the students that we served needed more than financial support; they needed a full spectrum of wrap-around support services to graduate successfully. As a result, the program shifted away from a primary focus on scholarship awards, to a greater emphasis on continuous, unrelenting support services for students. In order to achieve that goal, the Scholarship Program was restructured through the creation of partnerships with educational organizations and programs to help adequately facilitate the necessary support pieces. By partnering with these programs, the relationships that students develop in high school with trusted mentors, administrators, and program staff are leveraged and further utilized to foster success in college.
